Welcome To The Putter Cup

“The Putter Cup” is a new and exciting addition to anyone's round of golf.

Played alongside your normal club competition, it is the search for Ireland's best Putter.

Clubs all over Ireland will host “The Putter Cup” during 2025 and the winner in each location will advance to the regional final and ultimately on to the National Final where the winner will be crowned “The Putter Cup Champion 2025” in front of many thousands watching live on our social media channels.

Each weekend from April to October, “The Putter Cup” crews will be on the road in the branded transport vehicles, presenting the competition to 10’s of thousands of participants, in over 50 prestigious locations, nationwide. At every venue our team will meet and greet all of the golfers playing on both the Saturday and Sunday at “The Putter Cup” check-in tent, explain the rules and give them their individual Putter Cup scorecard.

“The Putter Cup” is a competition within a competition, however, unlike golf which relies on handicaps to even things out, putting is very much “level playing field” young or old, high or low handicap, it's anybody's to win on the day! Fewest Putts taken wins!

“The Putter Cup” is free for the club to host and it is free for the competitor to enter.

“The Putter Cup”

A Nationwide golf competition to establish who will be “The Putter Cup Champion 2025”

Visiting golf clubs all over Ireland from April to November 25 and played each weekend and during midweek open competitions, it will be played by 10’s of thousands of golfers, men and women all hoping to represent their clubs at the regional and ultimately, the National Final which will be held in Roganstown Golf Club in October. This is when "The Putter Cup Champion" will be crowned.

“Putting” Mental Health First!

While meeting and greeting golfers, The Putter Cup Team will also be raising awareness of mental health services, encouraging conversations about mental health and raising funds for this year's benefactor, Pieta House. Participants can, if they choose, make a donation to Pieta House on the day.

Through firsthand experience, we have seen the fantastic service that Pieta House can provide after a devastating suicide, but also the preventative services that they and many others can provide. It is this that forms the main drive for us at "The Putter Cup" Within every scorecard, players will find information and details of mental health service providers and services offered and on every tee box there will be little banner in plain sight containing inspirational facts and thoughts which we hope might even start a conversation or two.

Clubs and Captains all over the country have embraced the initiative and invited “The Putter Cup” to their clubs.

There is no cost to the clubs to host The Putter Cup and no entry fee to participate.

This is because we have the support of businesses nationwide who are helping us.

" The putter cup event was a great success, the guys did absolutely everything, and I have to say that our members appeared to thoroughly enjoy the extra level of competition"
Elaine McLoughlin,

What an amazing idea! The golf competition is a winner in its own right, but add to that the raising of mental health awareness amongst our membership and raising funds for Pieta House! What a great event.
Ian McGuinness,
Managing Director, Roganstown Golf Club.
